How I Can Help

As a trained psychotherapeutic counsellor I can offer counselling therapy on a range of issues.

  • depression

  • life changes

  • anxiety

  • bereavement

  • anger management

  • low confidence

  • low self esteem

  • illness

  • emotional struggles in parenting

  • relationship issues

  • separation/divorce

  • mild addictions

  • mild eating disorders

  • work-related stress

  • ageing

  • social isolation

Talking therapies can reduce the chances of symptoms returning and reduce or avoid the need for medication. Professionally guided talking allows one to develop awareness. This knowledge is the start to greater understanding of oneself and achieving the desired changes.

As an integrative therapist I draw upon a number of theories/therapies in particular Transactional Analysis, Attachment Theory and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy to inform my work. Maintaining a compassionate, respectful, non-judgmental, contained yet open and empathic relationship is essential and helps determine the success of the counselling therapy.

Xenia Watson Counselling Therapy North Yorkshire

“Xenia has helped me through a few tough periods in my life and I’m incredibly thankful for her help and support.

I have learned a lot, that continues to help me in everyday life, with the ability to self soothe in difficult moments. She helped me understand a lot about my thought processes, and how to move past my previous difficulties. I have always felt comfortable and assured with Xenia, and her support and kindness in sessions makes me know I can always go back to her if I needed to in future.”
